About CountryAid

Connecting people with meaningful community projects around the world.

Our Purpose

CountryAid is designed to help people discover community projects around the world and connect those projects with people who may want to support them.

We want it to be simple for anyone to browse countries, learn about local initiatives, and understand what each project hopes to achieve. Community organizers can share their work in their own words, and supporters can explore it at their own pace.

Accessibility, community participation and clear information guide how we build the platform.

How CountryAid Works

  1. Organizers submit projects

    Community organizers create an account and submit an application describing their project, location, goals and plans.

  2. CountryAid reviews applications

    Our team reviews each application before it is published and may ask for changes or more information.

  3. Approved projects are published

    Once approved, a project becomes discoverable on its country page and in the projects directory.

  4. Supporters explore and follow along

    Visitors can explore projects, read the information organizers provide, and follow any progress information that is available.

Reviewing an application helps us check that project information is complete and suitable for publication. It does not guarantee an organizer's legitimacy, a project's financial performance or its eventual success. CountryAid does not currently carry out independent field verification of projects.

Our Vision

We hope to make it easier for communities, including smaller local organizations, to share worthwhile projects with a wider audience.

Many good ideas start close to home and can be hard for people elsewhere to find. Over time, we want CountryAid to become a place where those projects can be seen, understood and supported by people around the world.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We aim to present each project clearly: who is organizing it, where it takes place, what it hopes to accomplish, its funding goal, and how funds are intended to be used.

When donations are enabled, CountryAid plans to direct 95% of each donation to the selected project, with a 5% service fee supporting the operation of the platform. Live donations are not yet open.

Where organizers share progress updates, we intend to make them easy to find alongside the project.
